There should be an advanced training mode

I meant to post this the other day but I hit my post limit.

Training is great for learning the basics. I think when you finish it, when it pops up the message that you’ve completed training, it should give you the option to return to the main menu, or the option to enter the learn mode where you can enter the lobby with all of the ascensions and training dummies so players can further explore. This is when things really start to “click”.

I think an advanced training mode would add value. This mode would cover things like status effects. What is crushing damage? What is piercing damage? Roots, Slows, Exhaust, Blind, Steadfast? None of this is directly covered unless you hold F1 and right click to see the definitions. It’s also possible that I missed it in training, but I don’t think it mentions that you only need 2 pieces for a set bonus, or that anchor abilities are one time use.

We added a new ‘Learn’ tab in Closed Beta that is sort of like an in game wiki. Do you think that covers enough information or is there still a need for an interactive version?

The wiki helps, but I think an interactive version would be better. Maybe a “tour” type element that points the user to the resource rather than them having to find it themselves.

For example, I pick up the leodin amulet during the tutorial. You could briefly describe steadfast and then say something like “information on status effects can be found in the learn tab on the main menu”. You don’t need to define all of them in the tutorial.

Or when I pick up the 2nd dahla item it highlights the “set bonus active” text to indicate that you don’t need all 4 to get the bonus.

Maybe something to clarify that anchor abilities are a consumable item (this might be there already, I probably missed some things)

These were just some examples of things that I learned from playing rather than my initial pass through the tutorial and training spires
