Sprint serves no purpose

This one is personal opinion, so I’ll start with the facts.

  • You can sprint for quite a while, it’s very forgiving
  • Sprint only adds a small amount of speed (20% if I had to guess)
  • It recharges quickly assuming you don’t exhaust yourself

Now with all of these things in mind, I don’t believe sprint should exist at all. Rather, it should be the default speed, with the ability to walk if preferred. Remove this in-between “jogging” speed and the sprint bar entirely. If players are spending 90% of the game sprinting, you’re just adding extra buttons and resources that they have to manage for little to no benefit. Please consider increasing the base speed and removing sprint altogether.

If you would prefer to keep it, consider increasing sprint speed to maybe +40% or +50% and reducing the sprint meter significantly so that it can be used for much shorter, faster bursts.

I know I just fired off 3 rapid fire feedback posts about problems that the game has, but I’ve really been having a ton of fun and I think the devs are killing it. I’d love to see this grow in popularity and develop its own esports scene. I’ll build the first amateur Arkheron league website!

use toggle sprint option -1 button

mismanagement tends to mean you dont get away = no win or you dont catch up and ge tthe kill and spoils

always know where people are chasing you from becasuse always be sprinting so loud steps

hard to catch people close gap and ambush walking/sneaking

when? if you want it to grow why is it i have or am?

Idk, if the game starts to gain some traction towards the open beta I’ll probably work on it. I’m not 100% sure what the format would look like yet, but it would probably only take a couple weeks to set something up. You don’t generally see amateur leagues for games that haven’t released yet

We’ve been through a lot of variations of how movement speed works in the game. We are trying to balance two things:

  1. We don’t want combat to be too fast
  2. We don’t want exploration in other areas to be too slow

This is one of the main reasons there are two different movement speeds. It used to be that if your weapons were out, your movement speed was slower. But we found that it was a hurdle to ask people to always remember to put their weapons away when they were trying to get out of a situation quickly.

Appreciate all of your feedback posts btw! Thanks so much for taking the time and glad to hear you’re otherwise having fun.

It will be interesting to see how the meta evolves. It may be a skill issue on my part, but I noticed that if a team chooses to run away rather than fight, it can be difficult to catch them and it often isn’t worth the time wasted (specifically in ascension). This is why my weapons of choice are edani’s.

That being said, maybe a 10-20% damage increase when attacking from behind would help?

Like I said, this could just be a skill issue, but if you see the meta shift towards dodging fights it could be something to consider. It really isn’t a problem in spires because there is nowhere to run
