[Feedback] More Custom Game Tools & Social Features

Hey Arkheron Team,

Straight to the point - It would be great to see more tools that allow players to create unique custom game experiences.

:performing_arts: Social Features

Voicelines / Enemy Interaction

Since Arkheron doesn’t have proximity voice chat, it would be awesome to have another way to interact with enemies.

Being able to play character-specific Echo/Eternal voice lines through an emote wheel would be a fun way to taunt, joke around, or simply acknowledge opponents before or after fights. It would add personality to encounters without requiring proximity voice chat.

Emote Wheel

Instead of being limited to a single emote, an Emote Wheel would allow players to equip multiple emotes / Voicelines

:video_game: Custom Game Tools

I’ve hosted quite a few Floor 3 Solo Ascension lobbies with custom rules - for example “Beacon Mayhem”, where everyone gears up peacefully before fighting exclusively on two Beacons and ive got a ton of postive feedback on that.

Some Clips from Beacon Mayhem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmKZdc6k3RI

Those matches ended up being some of the most fun I’ve had in Arkheron.

It would be lovely to have more tools to create unique game modes & experiences:

Beacon Settings

  • Custom Beacon spawn timers (time it takes until the Beacons spawn)

  • Custom Beacon shrink timers (time it takes until the beacon shrinks into the next smaller stage)

  • Option to create Beacon-Only matches

Fighting exclusively on Beacons is surprisingly fun and honestly feels like it could be its own game mode, whoever came up with the Destroyer joining a Beacon → that is so fun!

Item Restrictions

Allow hosts to ban specific items from the loot pool.

  • To create themed events like:

    • Only Edanis Pulling Claw

    • No Healing Items

    • Echo Items Only

This alone would massively increase the variety of possible community-created events.

Gameplay Modifiers

Allow hosts to customize gameplay rules, such as:

  • Disable weapon auto-attacks

  • Adjust or disable cooldowns for individual abilities

  • Modify cooldown multipliers globally

  • DMG Immunity for X Seconds/Minutes after match start

Some fun examples:

  • Only [RMB], No Cooldown

  • Movement Abilities Only

  • Basic Attacks Disabled

  • Eternal “Ultimate Ability” Chaos

  • Infinite Dash Mode

Imagine a Beacon-only match where everyone is endlessly spinning with the Scimitar or constantly leaping around with Rynshi’s Axe.

These kinds of silly modes are what make custom games memorable.

:clipboard: Lobby Browser

Iam sure you´re already aware, a built-in Custom Game Browser would make a huge difference.

Right now, players have to organize everything through Discord.

An in-game server browser would let players instantly discover and join community-created matches.

:eye: Spectating Ongoing Custom Games

When players join a custom lobby that already has a match in progress, they’re currently placed into a quiet lobby with no indication weither the lobby is currently ingame or not, which confuses players and makes them leave.

It would be awesome if late joiners could spectate the ongoing match while waiting for the next match to start.

:busts_in_silhouette: Increase the Maximum Number of Teams

I think this is a very important limitation to address.

Currently:

  • Trio: 15 Teams Ă— 3 Players = 45 Players Max

  • Duo: 15 Teams Ă— 2 Players = 30 Players Max

  • Solo: 15 Teams Ă— 1 Player = 15 Players Max

The maximum number of teams is always capped at 15.

This means that hosting Solo customs only allows 15 players, hosting duo allows 30, even though the map clearly supports significantly more participants.

It would be great if the maximum number of teams could scale depending on the selected team size.

For example:

  • Trios → 15 teams = 45 Players Max

  • Duos → up to 22–23 teams = 44-46 Players Max

  • Solos → up to 45 teams = 45 Players Max

Final Thoughts

The more freedom players have to customize gameplay, the more creative the community becomes.

Whether it’s competitive tournaments, goofy party modes, practice lobbies, or entirely new rule sets, giving hosts powerful customization tools would greatly increase Arkheron’s replayability and help build a thriving custom game community. Utilized AI for formatting.

Wow that is a well thought out post! Thank you so much for taking the time to gather all of these thoughts and experiences to share with us what would make things better. Your wish list and my wish list are almost the same list it looks like! Lets talk a bit about whats coming up soon vs whats a bit further out…

Emote Wheel

  • We have some updates to our Comms Wheel coming in very soon! This should allow for some more specific communication with other players than what we currently provide.
  • Adding an emote specific wheel didn’t make the cut this time, but its something we continuing to think about. With more emotes coming as the game gets closer to ship, it would be great to be able to show off a variety of emotes in your collection.

Custom Game Tools

  • Beacon mayhem sounds like fun!
  • I’ll note down the requests here! I know we want to expand on our custom game settings over time and its great to hear what would be valuable to you.
  • Love the item/loot pool ideas too, this would certainly be a post launch feature for our timeline but these are great ideas
  • Game modifiers are getting really specific here! Interesting list. We’ll have to evaluate balancing the interest with the combat integrity on some of these. Cool to see where your head is at though.

Lobby Browser

  • This is VERY MUCH on our list. We’ve been doing a lot to prepare for making this happen, timing and priority balancing have caused this to get moved out a few times. But please know its very much on our minds.

Spectating

  • We agree! This is on our improvement list for sure. There is something weird about joining an in-progress lobby right now.. not a lot of information.

Team Size

  • I am trying to imagine a 45 player solo match right now and my head is exploding a little bit.. How many beacons would it take?! There’s some technical and design aspects to consider with this one, but love where your head is at.

I’ll just sign off here with how much I appreciate seeing the Custom Games being used in our in-between times. This community is the lifeblood of Arkheron and giving you all the tools you need to have a great time with it is high on our list. Thanks again for taking the time to write this up.

What about 30 Players?

If Floor 1 currently has around 3–5 Beacons, I’d imagine ~5–6 Beacons would be enough for a 30-player solo lobby.

Sure, Beacons would get pretty chaotic - but that’s exactly what made Beacon Mayhem so much fun. We regularly had 7+ players fighting over a single Beacon, and it created some of the most exciting moments. (Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmKZdc6k3RI)

Since this would only be available in Custom Games, I don’t think it needs to be perfectly balanced or fully thought through (which it currently isn’t anyway - for example, we still can’t really start Floor 1 with the current 15-player limit).

Right now, the 15-player cap makes Custom Solo Ascension starting on Floor 1 unplayable. That’s why virtually every custom Solo Ascension starts on Floor 2 or Floor 3 instead. Floor 1 simply takes too long to progress, and the pace of combat is too slow because of the low player count.

I think increasing the cap to around 30 players would already make Floor 1 starts in Custom Games feel much more alive, with a better pace and more consistent action.

Thank you for responding, Reilena. I really appreciate you and the entire team for bringing a game to life that so many of us genuinely enjoy, iam excited to see where it goes.
