Arkheron’s universe is pretty dark, and I was looking for something a tad cute for this friendly contest. I have been enjoying the game a lot and all the good folks I have met have been really helpful and kind. A character instantly caught my attention and I am very happy to be able to play her constantly on the spire: the HOLLOW.
Indeed, the hollow has some kind of little pet daemon companions that are pretty funny in-game (or so I think). If this little pet has a name, I would like to know (please)!
I am not so good at anything, except painting little figurines, so here is my take on the Hollow’s Darkling Staff. I know the little daemon is not lore compliant, but it is hard to give a little piece of plastic a personality with a lot of white (or rather I could not do it).
What happened to our hero in this scenario is a bit of a mystery, but only the staff and the pet remains atop a pile of glowing rubble and maybe some traces of blood.
For now, I have this little guy looking at me from the edge of my desk while I play, all fun! Thanks for creating an intriguing and original universe.
It’s just a blender sculpt over the exported in game model. You cannot really use game assets directly (in general) for 3d printing because they are quite low poly (details comes from the textures, normal map and so on which is not a thing when you print). So what I did in this instance is just remodel on top of the exported model with the blender sculpt (a cheap zbrush) This way you get the dimension rights and it is quite fast, particularly for something so round. It works because you don’t care about the number of polys. I am sure you could print from the high poly versions of your assets with no problems.
Then after sculpt you add the more blocky elements back like the teeth but with more depth, enlarge to survive a print (the teeth for example go to the back of the mouth otherwise it would be too thin, the horns are bigger too, the wings are quite thick also).
My printer is not particularly good but it works I think!
Then I tried many things that worked more or less. For example on the little pet, I sprayed a dark metallic blue to make it a bit shiny, then I covered in ink, then I airbrushed with white. Could be better. What I should certainly have done is a wet blending between white and blue, and the result would have been more impressive.
The paint used is mostly Vallejo. I also had some army painter (but I don’t like it too much).

i have a friend who does a lot of 3d printing and painting and it seems like it takes so much patience building color because of how long some layers can take to dry so thanks for sharing and i really respect all the time and effort you put into your craft (:
ive been told by many people im banned from using the wall on her staff so even though im not allowed to use it in game its nice to appreciate it outside of combat lol
