One Tower Hour stream moment that really stuck with me was a month ago when Far Panther said, “I look around at my teammates and I look around and go, Well they get games, and they like this game, I get games and I like this game. What do I want to do on a Friday night-- I want to go play Arkheron.” There are a few devs I’d like to mention that stand out to me in particular for this.
I find it really important to have a deep understanding of the game because there are so many nuances and things players are looking for in a competitive style game. If you are able to be or at least practice with competitive players, you will have a much easier time seeing what those nuances are and what needs to be done for the game and its player base.
Little disclaimer, Zarazy is a contractor for the capture team not technicaly Bonfire, but if it were up to me he would have a full time position at Bonfire and a lot of say in what videos need to look like. He is such a skilled player and with that comes a deep level of understanding for what other competitive players want to see from the game. In my opinion the videos simply need to hype viewers up so they will hopefully decide they want to play the game. With a high skill level and his deep understanding of the gaming space as a whole, Zarazy would do amazing at making insane high level plays that would really get players like us to want to play the game. I think my point stands that people deep into the competitive space and gaming culture have such an edge in what Bonfire needs to accomplish that I really appreciate what Zarazy does and his perspectives.
Next I’d like to talk about Stove. My friend and I just mentioned it that it is so funny one of the first people a lot of us have met and have been taught the game by just happens to be the Co-founder of the freakin company lol. Stove is so chill and such a calming spirit that he is one of my favorite people I have met from this game. He has been nothing but nice, has never ego’ed anyone when there have been moments that I would have in his spot (lol), and has probably welcomed more people into the community than almost anyone. He has played countless times at 40 fps on hotel wifi out of town just because he truly loves the game he and the team is making and it truly riles up my enthusiasm to see someone have so much joy for it. I have nothing but nice things to say about him and am really glad we met!
Lastly I’d like to talk about Reilena. Not only is she my favorite dev, but she might just be my favorite person period. She is such a ray of sunshine and I don’t have the words to describe how meaningful she is to me. Reilena is one of the hardest workers I know and truly truly loves and believes in what the game of Arkheron is. As someone who is a bit of a pessimist and grumper at times, her positivity is truly infectious. I sometimes have the strongest urge to be super negative, but it would just be so wrong of me with how strong she is being keeping the vibes up even when we’re all upset that I cant help but want to be positive too. She will often join a lobbies at 9pm and I “have” to ask her if she is still in the office or not because it is often the case that she was working that late then still wanted to play. To see someone as active as her and truly being the example that comes to mind when I think of someone that really wants to play Arkheron after work with friends is just so meaningful to me as an active player and part of the community. I have nothing else to say but keep up the amazing work.
Thank you also to all of the other devs. You all do an amazing job and are making such a quality game that I believe we just gotta showcase it well to the masses and it can be a great success.
If any other dev or player in general wants to get some more competitive type practice in feel free to dm me on discord and I am more than happy to try and set things up when we have the time.
Also if anyone else reading this would like to say something about other devs they have had positive interactions with please feel free. <3
