I wish there was an option in settings to activate a health bar over my own characters head, the same one i see on enemies and allies.

I too wish that was an option to toggle
I agree it’s good idea, because during “hot” battle where every second counts you don’t have time to change your focus on the bottom panel to check your hit points.

Because of our camera perspective, having a health bar over your head would effectively put it right in front of your character. This space is visually very important because it’s your line of sight for combat, seeing your attacks, enemies in front of you etc. Even interactions like looting happen in that same space. This is why the health bar is in its current location.
It could be to the side of the character then.
